Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

If you have a question about ONSBORD, first check the FAQs. Perhaps the problem has been presented and the answer can be found in the FAQs. If this is not the case, you can always mail your question:

Q: After calibrating the IR pen, the pen will send signals to the WiiMote.

A: The IR LED pen stays on. This is easily checked by looking at the LED through on a mobile phone camera. Normally infrared light invisible to the human eye but a camera makes it visible. Solution to this problem is taking the battery from the pin and then reinsert.

Q: I have the software installed, but the blue LED flashes, is this correct?

A: Yes it should be. It means that the ONSBORD supply is properly installed, but that there is no connection with the WiiMote.

Q: After installing the system I get the message 'Exception: Wiimote not found in HID device list.'

A: The WiiMote is incorrectly recognized by Windows. To solve it, the device incorrectly recognized device must be removed from the system. Here's how: Go to Start > Control Panel > System > 'Hardware' tab> Bluetooth Devices. Expand by clicking the '+' button and there must be a "Bluetooth Virtual HID Keyboard" on your list. Remove it by right-clicking the device button and then select Delete. Windows will then attempt to install the WiiMote again.
